Every music scene needs record labels to collect, distribute and promote music either by a single artist or a collaboration of artists. This page serves as a directory for all the labels involved in and related to Chip Music.

A label is either considered to be a traditional record label, concerned with physical releases or a 'Netlabel', concerned with Internet releases. Many labels blur the line between the two categories. Whether or not the differences between the two label types are advantages or disadvantages is decided by the artist looking for a label to release their work.

Traditional Labels

These labels typically release music in physical form such as CDs/vinyl/cartridges and sell them either online or distribute them to various outlets in their respective countries or internationally. In addition to this, they may also release music through online music stores (such as Amazon and iTunes) or on their own websites. A few labels in this list function a lot like a Netlabel but they have made at least one physical release.

Netlabels

The following labels only distribute music through the Internet often under licenses that encourage works to be shared (e.g Creative Commons Licenses). Most Netlabels release music for free and employ guerrilla marketing to promote their work; some Netlabels may distribute albums through online music stores but the majority do not earn money for their signed artists.
