LSDJ Test (little-scale remix)

I really like the idea of only taking a single pitched, octave line and a rhythm as a point of departure. My pitched lines all originate from the original LSDJ recording. This is a remix of the Super Panda Blast track 'LSDJ Test', which can be found on the Super Panda Blast 8BC profile: http://www.8bitcollective.com/members/Super+Panda+Blast/. little-scale : I'm not familiar with Aphex's Ston In Focus, but I'm sure my track is very similar to many, many tracks. Thanks guys -- especially to wedanced for his very nice words :)
at October 7th 2008, 01:37 PM

NANOSHINE : haha im making one toooo!!! this is a great melody:D
at October 7th 2008, 12:22 PM

wedanced : 3 reasons why little-scale kicks ass. 1) the man can take a concept and go with it. 2) he could make a rock sound good. 3) he gives back to the community.
at October 7th 2008, 12:04 PM

Super Panda Blast : ya thatd be fine with me ill listen to the song when i get home cuz im at school right now gonna learn how to really use lsdj

Taper3c0rd3r : yeah dude, this is a great song, and as combatdave says, make it longer. this tune is in fact also very similar to Aphex Twin's Stone In Focus (wich also is a great song)
at October 7th 2008, 10:06 AM

sally zero : man that kicks arse!!!!
at October 7th 2008, 07:38 AM

combatdave : this is so fucking good! SPB goes post-rock. make it longer and make it SUPERPANDAAWESOME

at October 7th 2008, 03:54 AM

Super Ninjad : whether or not people take spb seriously he sure has been inspiration for some great remixes :)
at October 7th 2008, 03:54 AM

nordloef : awesome track!
at October 7th 2008, 03:53 AM

Flanboy : Well said Little Scale, I really enjoyed spendingd an hour on Monday morning turning some notes in to a Jungle track. I wasn't doing it to take the piss. Well, maybe half talking the piss ;) This is a very nice track.
at October 7th 2008, 01:41 AM

little-scale : thanks, µB :)
at October 6th 2008, 11:55 PM

µB : Agree with Gypsum. Excellent work, little-scale. Btw, I think a compo with select remixes would be a good thing: It would be a good example for starters how to evolve a simple pattern into a full song. Especially this.
at October 6th 2008, 11:38 PM

little-scale : thanks guys. Ro-Bear, fair enough, thanks for your kind words anyway.
at October 6th 2008, 09:06 PM

TristEndo : lsdjtest ftw
at October 6th 2008, 08:57 PM

Ro-Bear : Wow Little-scale, I really really like this. To be honest, sometimes I find your stuff to be a little too tech oriented for my liking, however, most of your songs have very powerful moments that I love, but this entire thing is fantastic.
at October 6th 2008, 08:53 PM

little-scale : thanks, but we should not do it if SPB does not want us to, just think of yourself in that situation.
at October 6th 2008, 08:30 PM

ouroboros : wow! this is amazing...insulting to super panda blast or no, i think the idea of a comp with tracks all based on the same basic riff but expanded according to the artists' intuitions would be wonderful.
at October 6th 2008, 08:21 PM

little-scale : agreed, EvilWezil
at October 6th 2008, 08:17 PM

EvilWezil : This really is a great song. I agree with your outlines. Working with restrictions encourages new ways of thinking, and if a "Testing" comp would spawn more music like this. I'd be all for it. I dunno, ask SPB if he'd mind. (Also, let's all take a moment to note the level of instant superstardom he accidentally achieved.)
at October 6th 2008, 08:12 PM

little-scale : i don't know. would that be very insulting to super panda blast? with his permission perhaps... although i like the idea, for the reasons i have outlined in the description of this submission as well as my reply to Jaxco's comment.
at October 6th 2008, 08:04 PM

SeanBad : ok i guess its likely for a LSDJ Test comp?
at October 6th 2008, 08:02 PM

little-scale : thanks!
at October 6th 2008, 07:46 PM

hoy-hoy : lovely :3
at October 6th 2008, 07:44 PM

10k : Best remix so far, not doubt.
at October 6th 2008, 07:42 PM

10k : dubmix. epix.
at October 6th 2008, 07:40 PM

little-scale : thanks jaxco. i didn't intent this remix to be a joke. to me, part of what makes chipmusic great is the limitations. instead of ripping into SPB, i said to myself -- what can i do with this? where can this lead me? -- the idea that just because someone is new to something does not mean that they have to be put down or ridiculed. we really have to get used to the fact that this is the internet, and that people will upload many things that they create.
at October 6th 2008, 07:36 PM

Jaxco : wow i thought people had taken this joke too far but i actually like this song
