The Architect
Made with LSDj/Audacity/Countless Samples I feel like I should apologise for this on so many levels. But I won't :-p

Dot M8rix : Yeah I'm using VBA (hence the beat goes a little off as my processor slows :-S), and I'll be using that until my new LSDJ cart arrives from Lameboy. My bad with the battery: freewebs.com/djbrenez/lsdj.sav

CCIVORY : haha awesome. however, you have to save it (export) as a battery file. what emulator are you using? VBA?

Dot M8rix : The key's E mate. I've put the save file up at freewebs.com/djbrenez/lsdj7.sgm
That should help a bit...

CCIVORY : ah okay :). you could really put some power into this song. the beginning is not powerful at all, but it's weird and kind of grabs your attention a bit just because you're waiting for something to happen. so right once you go into the fast part...hmm maybe i'll show you. what key is it in?

Dot M8rix : Cheers CCIVORY, I'll absorb all that and give it another go. What you can hear as a lead melody actually started as a bass, and it got lost along the way. Still it seemed a shame to waste the song! Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying what I'm doing, but I'm still learning. The apology was more because it's clearly not a finished song.

CCIVORY : i meant add a nice bass for the faster part when the hihats become at a constant 2 and 4 beat

CCIVORY : this song misses it's chance. once it picks up speed, there's no structure to pull it. if i were you, i would leave the beginning as it was, and add a nice bass. what key is this in? sounds like C. so what i'd say is make a bassline of 4 beats each, take the Perfect 4th of whatever root scale you're using, after that the Perfect 5th or go to your root note for four beats, and add another identifier root note for the bass. give it some character. dont put up a song if you feel like you should apologize for it...be proud of what you're doing, and if you're not.....don't do it...
