skoshu : thanks for the bunches of listens and comments, brad :) everything i've posted one here so far is nanoloop, except the tetris track, which is done in FL Studio. I think I used magical8bitplug/YMvst for that.

skoshu : cheers glomag! i didn't do anything to the recording iirc (except limiting). some sections have two low square waves battling each other, maybe that's part of the muddiness you're talking about? or do you hear it all the way through? Maybe it's got to do with the mp3 encoding, looks like the very high end is completely missing in winamp, compared to the wav. On a similar note, ever recognised how easy it is to differentiate between mp3 and wav with chiptunes? My ears usually suck at that, but chiptunes always sound so different in mp3 format. It's probably because of all those harmonics.
