failotron : Thank you for the construcitve replies from all, i was realy glad that you commented and spent time listening it. I'll try to get a proper recording of the guitars as soon as possible, but since i dont have an amp, i have to borrow one, and the guitar pickups needs to be changed. I have made a couple of more songs like this, maybe a bit more dreamier, we'll see what comes out. Again, thank you for the advices ;) Oh yeah, and the vocals are mixed realy low, and often just reverbed the shit outa them, making some choir-pad thingy.

failotron : oh yes, and please the consider criticism you get here. it might help more then myspace comments

failotron : although i realy like you stephan in all ways, please consider that breakcore is not just about the amen sounding, but the way you put the beats together as well, it follows a realy complex patterline, wich is not to be confused with random fucked up beats. About the thing of comparing judgement towards breakcore with judgement towards console music is just nosense. Take care and still love you :)

firebrandboy : the mix is the only thing letting this track down. 8/10.

crashfaster : great foundation for a totally epic track. the song really starts to shine at the break down. i'd tone down the lead synth line in the beginning. the bass track would be strong enough to carry the verse if there were vocals on top of it. echo ary-bo-bary - i can't head any vocals. i think depending on which route you take with them a lot of the concerns with the complexity of the track would vanish. looking forward to hearing pt. 2!

StopRewind : love the sound of this, reminds me of coldplay, I've been messing guitars/drums with lsdj trying to get this sound, looks like u nailed it.

lineout of marshall tube amplifier=blasphemy
failotron: lots of potential here! id say either get "dreamier," more washy sounding, or spice it up a lil and make it more ornate/complicated sounding. didnt catch the whiny vocals though haha. super low in the mix?

Faking Amnesia : I liked it, but as gypsum said, if you changed the way you recorded the guitar it would be ten times better.
on starfall demo (famitracker n guitars) at Nov 9th 2008, 09:31 AM
gypsum : this could use some work but it's a good start. i'm of the opinion that it sounds too much like a typical post rock song. BUT, it is not often I hear 8 bit influenced post rock songs, so it is interesting - also, that being said, I think the song as is gets pretty good after the break down half way through. another thing, is that guitars, especially over driven and distorted, sound like garbage when recorded directly into the computer. i did some experimenting yesterday with the line out on a very nice marshall tube amplifier, and for the life of me could not get the gain channel to sound better than total suck. it's best to get a mic and record from your amp. like i said, i think the structure could use some more originality, but a great way to improve is to make those guitars HUGE by alternate recording methods.

Schlingel : Heard it at the function 08. Sounds very good - with or without alcohol.
