gypsum : also, to anyone who is interested, i asked kitsch to do the mod without an on / off switch for the EL. i think in retrospect i would have preferred a switch, but then again i like the aesthetic quality of a unit sans switch. the EL turns on when you put batteries in, and does not shut off until you take them out.

gypsum : dimefan90-true; not long ago i had a nice collection, but once i started actually making music with game boys, i failed to see the point in owning more than two. this isn't a collectors piece to be sold on ebay - it is a work horse. popsicletheory - the led is blue. kitsch actually installed a super bright one, which looked great, but would burn your retinas if you tried to use it for more than four minutes. so i put some scotch tape under the screen protector. the purple color is probably that combined with the overhead lighting.
