Super Game Boy 1 & 2 Circuit Comparison
I'm curious what the function of the crystal is on the SGB2, and why its not on both? Pro-sound Mod works the same for both.

mdos : I had it scribbled down somewhere... I believe the value on the crystal was 2 point something. I remember that it was not the half-value of the dmg, because that was my initial thought.

BleepBloop : What is the value on the chip in the center on the Super Gameboy 2. Also what is the value on the crystal?

mdos : Its definitely worth it. The mod gets the sound directly from the cartridge, which is pretty much a DMG's circuit inside an SNES cartridge. Otherwise, that sound gets run through the SNES, and then out of the SNES to RCA... just more places for the signal to get affected negatively. I haven't done any critical test recordings but from my ear, I'd say modded, it sounds the same if not VERY close to a prosound DMG.

wedanced : very interesting. i was wondering if it might be possible to ask for you to post a sound comparisons of the promoded sgbs? a simple and short before and after would be great!!! i have been thinking about doing this mod for recording but i am not sure if it would be worth it.

White Circuit : I'm going to assume the crystals are for time calculation for games that have a time function. Like, pokemon gold.
